BRENDAN MOAR
is that garden guy from the Lifestyle Channel, the landscape architect who moved to the worlds of theatre, photography and communications. In 1999 he became a TV presenter for Home and Moar Gardening. He has a passion for contemporary gardens with a genuine sense of place.
Moar writes, Australia is unique in that we still struggle to truly embrace the beauty and strangeness of our landscape with all its foiblesso easily trumped by ideas and images from lusher, more verdant gardens and landscapes of Asia, Europe and Americawe have real barriers in trying to love our own landscapes. When that happens on a broad sense, will we see an Australian aestheticmore sustainable, delicious gardens with an authentic sense of place?
Moars own designs are striking, colourful and richly grounded in the Australian environment. In 2005, he authored the book Grounded: Design Fundamentals for Gardens Anywhere.
